Org Chart Generator

This is a free org chart generator that converts plain text to a visual org chart.

You simply type or paste your text into the textarea box in a specific format, then click generate. Here’s the format:

Company Name
-Name, Job Title, Other Text, Other Text or Image URL
--Name, Job Title, Other Text, Other Text or Image URL
---Name, Job Title, Other Text, Other Text or Image URL
--Name, Job Title, Other Text, Other Text or Image URL

First, you must start with a company name or group/title at the top on its own line (with no dash). Also, each person needs to be on their own line (with one or more dashes). Then, the more dashes in front of someone, the further down the org chart they are. As you can see, commas separate information for each person. It’s that simple!

To put it another way, one dash is the person at the very top. Two dashes are the people reporting to the very top person. Three dashes are people reporting to one of the two dashes people. They will show reporting to whoever they are directly under in the list. So, you can see above that the third line reports to the second line. And both the second and last line report to the very top person due to number of dashes.

The very last item (after the final comma in each row) can be plain text or an image URL. What’s an image URL? This: https://website.com/filename.jpg

In this example, only the first person will have an image:
